Our democracy only survives if we defend it. We’ve watched voting rights come
under attack and seen Donald Trump and his MAGA allies try to bend the rules
for themselves.

Look at Texas: Republicans are advancing a redistricting scheme engineered to
lock in as many as five extra House seats in 2026—before voters even cast a
ballot. And Trump has said he would sign an executive order to eliminate
mail-in ballots and voting machines nationwide. That’s not election
integrity—it’s voter suppression.

This is not who we are in Sacramento or in America. We believe in free, fair,
and accessible elections where every eligible voter can make their voice heard.

Doris Matsui is fighting back. She’s supporting California’s response to even
the playing field—defending fair maps, backing efforts to protect vote-by-mail
and early voting, and pushing for secure election funding so local officials
can do their jobs without intimidation. While Texas politicians try to rig the
rules, Doris is working to strengthen them for everyone.
