CHARLIE KIRK (1993 - 2025)

Charlie Kirk was murdered because of his thoughts and beliefs. Like so many times before, Charlie was sharing those opinions with students on a college campus, having an open dialogue about America’s path forward, when he was brutally killed. Our country was founded to provide people like Charlie, as well as anyone who might disagree with him, the right to stand in the public square and express themselves. I’m heartbroken that we, as a country, failed to protect Charlie’s liberties. We have to do better. We have to be able to speak, listen, and disagree with our friends, neighbors, and fellow Americans without resorting to hatred and violence. My prayers are with Charlie’s wife Erika, his two small children, as well his family and friends who have lost an American patriot.

MURRIETA CREEK

We know it is a matter of when, not if, our watersheds will flood. That is why I have supported federal investments in the Murrieta Creek flood control project. I recently joined Temecula, Murrieta, Riverside County leaders and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to break ground on Phase 2B of the project, which includes $39.4 million that was appropriated by Congress. Rest assured, I will continue to work with local leaders to support federal investments in local flood control projects to protect our community. Click HERE to learn more about the project.

NO TAX ON TIPS

Earlier this year, I voted to pass a new law that cuts taxes for working families. One of the many new tax benefits is a new “no tax on tips” provision that allows workers to deduct up to $25,000 of earned tip income starting in 2025. The U.S. Treasury Department recently published a preliminary list of occupations that customarily and regularly received tips and therefore qualify for the new “no tax on tips” provision.

I asked my 41st District constituents how the working family tax cuts would impact them. Families, like Sarah's, are set to keep more of the money they earn working overtime.
