Farewell Announcement: Dr. Tonik Joseph
HCLA Special Assistant Dr. Joseph will be departing the agency on Oct. 3, 2025.
Through her career at DSHS, Dr. Joseph has been a dedicated leader, guiding the opening of the first Youth Crisis Center and Short-Term Stabilization Facility for individuals with Intellectual and developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs.
In 2023, she was named Assistant Secretary for the Developmental Disabilities Administration after serving in several key leadership roles across DSHS.
She is widely recognized for her servant leadership and hands-on approach, always putting people first and earning the trust of families, communities, and staff alike. Dr. Joseph will be spending time with her family, while preparing for the next chapter in her career dedicated to service.
We are deeply grateful for Dr. Joseph's many contributions to Washington state and the lasting impact of her work.
