A consequential special election is coming up fast in Minnesota, John.

Our endorsed candidate, Xp Lee, is running to fill a vacant seat in the Minnesota House created by the assassination of his mentor Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman earlier this summer.

Xp is a lifelong community builder who has worked to advance racial justice, gender equity, and community empowerment.

With a tie in the State House, the outcome of Tuesday’s election will decide the balance of power in the chamber. If Xp loses next Tuesday, Republicans will be able to push through their MAGA agenda — and stop progressive legislation from the Democratic State Senate from making it onto the Governor’s desk.
