I'm honored to share this with you:

My bipartisan bill, the Mental Health in Aviation Act , passed the House this week.
Under existing rules, pilots and air traffic controllers are punished for seeking any kind of mental health support – including routine care like marriage and grief counseling.

It's a bad system that derails careers, creates a culture of silence, and ultimately leads to avoidable tragedies.

Who WOULDN’T want the people responsible for our safety to be in tip-top shape? It’s just common sense: The Mental Health in Aviation Act will make our skies friendlier and safer.

Getting this bill passed was a challenge to say the least, but we succeeded even in this insanely divided Congress. That’s a reason to hope.

Next, my bill is headed to the Senate. I’ll continue drumming up public interest and support for this long-overdue legislation, and of course, keep you updated on its progress.

Before I go: If you’d like to chip in to my campaign so I can secure another term as the Common-Sense Crusader of Capitol Hill, I’d greatly appreciate your support! [[link removed]]
