It was another eventful week across TX-14! While I was in Washington, D.C., working for you, your staff (we work for YOU!) attended a variety of events, from ribbon cuttings to anniversaries.
To start the week, Team Weber and the Vidor Chamber of Commerce attended a ribbon-cutting for Stable Spirit. Stable Spirit is a nonprofit that aims to provide the community with mental, physical, and emotional health support through interaction with therapeutic horses. Afterward, the team attended a meet-and-greet with recruiters and interested candidates at the Lake Jackson Army Recruiting Station. Team Weber is eager to support our military and recognize the amazing service they offer to the constituents of TX-14!
The Friendswood Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting for HR Compliance & Career Service, recognizing their innovative approach to professional growth and tailored career coaching. The Texas Municipal League hosted a State of the City address in Texas City, providing a comprehensive update regarding the city and highlighting key future projects.
The Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) hosted the 24th annual Salute to Real American Heroes. We honored the first responders of Southeast Texas, who continue to do an outstanding job serving and protecting their communities. All proceeds from the event will go to supporting scholarships at LIT for students who want to pursue careers in fields like energy management, homeland security, and criminal justice. Here, my staff had the honor of presenting four flags that had been flown over the United States Capitol to officers of the Kerr County Sheriff’s Department, who responded to the devastating floods in July. Thank you for your continued service to our communities.
