Honoring Charlie Kirk
John,
I want to begin by addressing what I know is front of mind for all of us, the
assassination of Charlie Kirk. To see a young man, a husband and father, and a
staunch defender of free speech be gunned down for the ideas he expressed has
been devastating, and I would ask that each of you join me in lifting up his
family in prayer. I am glad to be able to say that President Trump announced
this morning, "with a high-degree of certainty" that the killer has been
identified and is now in custody. I want to thank President Trump and Governor
Braun for directing flags to be flown at half-mast to honor Charlie, and I have
been very glad to see an outpouring of support for his family and loved ones
from Hoosiers across the state.
Charlie died practicing what he preached, engaging in open debate and standing
up for the principles we hold so dear. He will continue to inspire each and
every one of us, and this heinous act will not erase the good he did and love
he had for this nation and his countrymen.
As always, thank you for being a part of our team. Please feel free to reach
out if there's anything I can assist with.
Lana Keesling, Indiana GOP Chairwoman

Governor Braun leads the nation in removing discriminatory business practices
Indiana has become the first state to request a federal waiver to remove race
and gender-based requirements from the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)
program in highway construction contracts. If approved, the Indiana Department
of Transportation would instead use race and gender neutral criteria focused on
economically disadvantaged small businesses.
"I am a firm believer in offering equal opportunity for all to compete and
succeed. If granted, this waiver will further position Indiana as a state one
would want to do business with and as a place to grow your business,"
