Email from Rep Feenstra In this week's roundup: Honoring the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk and remembering our fellow Americans who perished on 9/11. Dear Friend, In this week's roundup: Honoring the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk and remembering our fellow Americans who perished on 9/11. That and more – remember to follow my Facebook page by clicking here and my Twitter page by clicking here to stay up-to-date throughout the week! HONORING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF CHARLIE KIRK I am devastated and heartbroken by the assassination of Charlie Kirk. He was a devoted father and loving husband who engaged in real debate and dialogue with others. The impact he had on our college campuses as a conservative voice is enormous and immeasurable. May God grant his family comfort during this awful time and may Charlie rest in peace. REMEMBERING OUR FELLOW AMERICANS WHO LOST THEIR LIVES ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 Yesterday, we paused to remember our fellow Americans who perished at the hands of vile terrorists on September 11, 2001. On this somber anniversary, we also honor the brave first responders who charged toward danger to save others. Our thoughts and prayers remain with their families and loved ones. MEETING WITH VFW LEADERSHIP AND MEMBERS FROM IOWA I enjoyed meeting with the new National Commander of the VFW, Carol Whitmore, who is the first Iowan elected to the position, and Michael Young, who serves as a National Legislative Committeeman from Iowa. I will always stand with our veterans who are true American heroes! DELIVERING A HUGE WIN FOR IOWA AGRICULTURE! President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts include the largest investment in American agriculture in a generation. Much of the next Farm Bill was even passed and signed into law. The Working Families Tax Cuts are a major win for America’s farmers! Feenstra: A huge win for Iowa agriculture In Iowa, agriculture is more than an industry, it's the backbone of our economy and a pillar of our identity. I enjoyed sitting down with my neighbors from the Sioux Center Chamber of Commerce to talk about how we can grow our rural communities and strengthen our economy. We also discussed how the Working Families Tax Cuts will be jet fuel for our economy and invest in our main streets. SITTING DOWN WITH MEMBERS OF THE IOWA FARM BUREAU'S AG LEADERS PROGRAM It was great to meet with members of the Iowa Farm Bureau's Ag Leaders Program. We talked about passing a new Farm Bill, investing in homegrown Iowa biofuels, and opening new export markets for our agricultural products. I’ll continue to be the strongest voice for agriculture! DELIVERING A PAY RAISE FOR OUR TROOPS AS PART OF THE NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT With conflicts around the world and foreign nations intent on weakening the United States, it is crucial that we fully fund our military, invest in our national defense, and advance President Trump’s peace through strength agenda. My vote for the National Defense Authorization Act ensures that we deliver a much-needed pay raise for our troops, support our military families, strengthen defense manufacturing, and stand up to China, Iran, and other enemies. Through the NDAA, we also included provisions to keep our border secure, protect our country from dangerous drug cartels, ban the creation of a digital dollar, and eliminate wasteful spending unrelated to our national defense. Under the Trump administration, we will continue to put the American warfighter and our national security first. Feenstra Votes for Pay Raise for U.S. Troops as part of National Defense Authorization Act WASHINGTON, D.C. - This week, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for, and the U.S. House of Representatives passed, the FY 26 National Defense Authorization Act. Homegrown Iowa biofuels lower prices at the pump, support our rural communities, and help reduce our reliance on foreign countries for our energy needs. MEETING WITH IOWA HOG FARMERS This week, I had the opportunity to address the National Pork Producers Council's Legislative Action Conference, which included several hog farmers from Iowa. I also enjoyed chatting with members of the Iowa Pork Producers Association about getting a new Farm Bill signed into law, opening new export markets for Iowa pork, and holding California accountable for its attacks on Iowa agriculture. I’ll keep working to support our hog farmers and defend rural Iowa! ADDRESSING THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MANUFACTURERS On Tuesday, I addressed the National Association of Manufacturers' Tax Policy Committee and talked about the many wins we delivered for domestic manufacturing in our Working Families Tax Cuts. This package supports small manufacturers, encourages investment in our communities, and truly grows our economy. ONE LAST THING: SECRETARY OF VETERANS AFFAIRS DOUG COLLINS IN IOWA! On Monday, our District Director — Emily — visited the Des Moines VA Medical Center and met with U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins. During his visit, the Secretary recognized outstanding VA employees. I appreciate everything President Trump and Secretary Collins are doing to put our veterans first. MY WEEKLY COLUMN: DELIVERING A PAY RAISE FOR OUR TROOPS AND STRENGTHENING OUR NATIONAL SECURITY In 1961, the United States Congress passed the first National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Then, and in every conflict since, our brave men and women at home and overseas relied on Congress to authorize new programs, procure advanced weapons, and make quality-of-life improvements for servicemembers. For this 64th consecutive passage of the NDAA, Republicans in Congress fought to save billions of dollars while strengthening our military capabilities. H.R. 3838, the Streamlining Procurement for Effective Execution and Delivery and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026—which I voted for, and the House of Representatives passed—implements peace through strength, roots out wasteful spending, secures our border, and keeps our military strong and prepared.
