John, I am alarmed
by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s tenure as Secretary of Health and Human
Services.
People have lost confidence in the health leadership in the United States
because of people like RFK Jr.
He’s putting conspiracy theories ahead of science.
He’s gutting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — ousting the
head of the department and firing every member of the Advisory Committee
on Immunization Practices.
He’s replacing these doctors and scientists with anti-vaxxers and
conspiracy theorists.
We now have a CDC full of people we cannot trust to make sound
recommendations about our health and safety.
And the result is that Covid vaccines may be unavailable or unaffordable
for millions of Americans who need them. Already, there is uncertainty at
pharmacies about who can receive a vaccine and whether insurance companies
will pay for them. People are being turned away, and our healthcare is
suffering.
Former CDC directors, ranging from the Carter administration to Trump’s
first term, are speaking out against RFK Jr.’s changes.
John, we need to
fight back. Facts and science should be the basis for decision-making —
not dangerous conspiracy theories.
