A black cat brings healing after loss and it started with your support.

Hello Jack,

When Marcia met Dante at Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit, she knew he was special. “I call him Buddy Jr. because I lost my black cat last year who was just about twelve years old,” she shared.

Her connection to Dante helped her keep a promise made in love.

“Before he passed away, I told him that I wanted another black cat and that I would name him Buddy Jr. in his honor.” Today, Buddy Jr. lives with his sister Miss Ozzy Ann and fills Marcia’s home with comfort and joy.

His adoption represents something bigger than one moment.

Stories like this are possible because of you. Your support gives animals like Dante a second chance.

It helps people like Marcia find healing. And it keeps our adoption program strong and accessible for families across our region.

Please make a gift to help more animals find their perfect match.

Thank you for helping dreams come true one adoption at a time.
