You are invited to attend our rescheduled webinar entitled Seizing the moment: limiting alcohol availability now and post COVID-19
COVID-19 has unexpectedly put alcohol policy on the national agenda and we can and should take advantage of this moment. Since 18 March, availability of alcohol has been limited under the State of Disaster, resulting in a significant drop in alcohol-related harm and a freeing-up of hospital beds for coronavirus patients.
Sonke Gender Justice, Gun Free South Africa and SAAPA SA invite you to join us in the first joint discussion of a civil society campaign to lobby for a 'new normal' in which alcohol availability is permanently reduced as a means of preventing alcohol-related harm, especially interpersonal violence, domestic violence, gender-based violence and femicide. Each organisation is encouraged to send up to four delegates to the webinar which will take place on Thursday 2 July from 2.30pm-4.30pm.
