![]() Dear Friend, State Senator Barbara Kirkmeyer just entered the race for governor as a Republican. Her record shows exactly what’s at stake in this election. We need fighters — not rubber stamps for Trump. Sen. Kirkmeyer loudly defended Trump’s new law that will raise our electricity prices, undermine our nation’s transition to clean energy, take healthcare away from over 200,000 Coloradans, and put our rural hospitals at risk. And when I sought more tools to fight back against Trump and his cabinet last session, she did her best to block me from defending our state. And Kirkmeyer openly attacked my work, fighting back against Trump in court whenever he violates the rule of law and harms Colorado. Let me be very clear — some feel we need to “work with” Trump. Sen. Kirkmeyer has stated that I should stop “poking at him”. That is a losing strategy for Colorado — appeasement never works with bullies. And I don’t back down to bullies; I confront them. These are not normal times. I will stand up to Trump every time he breaks the law and harms Coloradans. I am ready, prepared, and willing to fight his lawless acts in defense of our state. I have a different vision for Colorado — focused on freedom and opportunity for all — and will fight hard for it. This is the choice before us: Do we want a governor who will turn back the clock on women’s rights, side with Trump’s reckless agenda, and undermine our future? Or do we want a governor who will protect reproductive freedom, lower costs for families, and fight for Colorado against the lawless and harmful actions of the Trump administration? I believe in a Colorado that is stronger when we come together, that respects the rights and dignity of every person, and that fights for opportunity for all. That’s the leadership I will bring to the Governor’s office.
Thank you for standing with me in this critical moment. Together, we will build the future Colorado deserves. With gratitude, Phil |
