September is Disaster Preparedness Month!

Flood Bucket Callout

September is National Disaster Preparedness Month. With natural disasters on the rise and the start of hurricane season, the Missouri Conference is issuing a callout for UMCOR Cleaning Kits. Cleaning kits, or flood buckets, provide essential clean-up supplies to people who have experienced a natural disaster. Deploying kits is just one way Missouri United Methodists show up and serve when it matters most.

Getting involved is easy: We're asking you to commit in September, but you can build any time this fall.

Connecting Neighbors Interest

If you are looking for ways to help your church become better prepared to respond during times of disaster, consider the UMCOR Connecting Neighbors program. This one-day training helps equip churches with the knowledge and resources needed to protect both people and property, assess community needs, and connect with local emergency plans. Participants will learn how to strengthen communication, identify potential risks and ensure the church is ready to support neighbors in crisis.
