Kirk still believed in the free exchange of ideas - a value all too rare amid partisan media siloes - and acted on that belief. He intentionally invited debates on university campuses, which progressives consider their home turf, and he often acquitted himself well.

President Donald Trump and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are defunding scientific research that uses aborted fetal tissue. According to Breitbart News, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has still been funding 17 grants that use aborted fetal tissue for testing and research. Most of those programs were initiated under then-President Joe Biden but are scheduled to continue being funded through 2026. However, NIH told Breitbart News that the health agency will not renew the problematic grants.

President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he will be awarding the late Charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom, following the Turning Point USA founder's assassination Wednesday afternoon. "Charlie was a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty and an inspiration to millions and millions of people," the president said during an event memorializing the September 11 attacks of 2001. "I have no doubt that Charlie's voice and the courage he put into the hearts of countless people, especially young people, will live on," he added.
