John,
The assassination in Utah is not an isolated act. It’s part of a growing
pattern of political violence under Trump’s fascist regime: federal agents
invading our neighborhoods, immigrant families torn apart in raids,
abortion bans that criminalize care, politicians murdered in their homes,
healthcare gutted, troops deployed against protestors.
And we know how this story goes. In moments like this, those in power
seize the shock to justify militarization, expand surveillance, and strip
away our freedoms.
This is what authoritarian power looks like—violence in every form, from
bullets to policies. Its goal is always the same: to silence us, divide
us, and keep us afraid.
But feminists teach us otherwise. In escalated moments, we pause. Breathe.
Refuse panic. And then—we turn to each other, grounded in care and
resistance.
