We know, you have answered the call when we’ve needed your support, and I’m so grateful. We simply wouldn’t be able to give tens of thousands of parents and carers the items they need for their children to thrive without you by our side.

But right now, too many babies and children are missing out on the simple essentials most of us take for granted – clothes that fit, shoes for school, or a warm coat.

Here’s what Katie, a mum who is living with cancer, told us recently when she opened Our Village clothing bundles with her kids:

“My kids were absolutely thrilled by the clothing packages. My 4-year-old son carries the bag around with whatever clothing he isn’t wearing and shows it proudly to anyone he can. My daughter has been so delighted with her package. It seems each day over the week she has a whole new outfit … every item inside was such a blessing to her.

“Thank you so much for making such a huge difference in our lives. The fact I’m going through chemo adds to just how special and valued the packs are. My husband and I have no family nearby so I loved the village concept. That even though I don’t have family support I have people like you reaching out and giving us a helping hand. My deepest appreciation and thankfulness.”

We get hundreds of requests for clothing bundles every week. Our volunteers work tirelessly to package pre-loved donations and get them to their grateful new owners.

And that work never ends, because so many vulnerable children still need our help.

The harsh reality is this: We need regular, reliable income in order to help the thousands of vulnerable children in Victoria who need us. And that’s why I’m writing to you today.
