Hi there,
Last Thursday, nearly 100 Arizonans showed up at Juan Ciscomani's office demanding answers about his vote for the Big Beautiful Bill.
Do you know who wasn't there? Juan Ciscomani.
These weren't protesters looking for a fight. They were working families, single mothers, and community leaders worried about losing healthcare, Medicaid, and SNAP benefits so billionaires can get tax cuts.
One organizer, a single mother with a special needs child, explained how Medicaid helps her get the care her child needs. "This will cut a lot of things in our community," she said.
And how has Ciscomani responded to these concerns in the past? He said, "With any decision we make, there will be a split decision. Some people are going to like it; some people aren't."
That's not leadership. That's indifference.
For months, constituents have been asking Ciscomani for town halls. They've asked for his presence at community events. They've asked to meet in his office.
He won't show up. He won't listen. He won't engage.
"Our representative doesn't listen to his constituents," said Arizona Representative Nancy Gutierrez, who joined the protestors. "He doesn't show up at events."
This is what happens when representatives stop paying attention to how their votes affect real families. Ciscomani voted to extend Trump's tax cuts for the wealthy while cutting programs that working families depend on.
He's not just voting against Arizona families — he's also refusing to meet with them and defend his decision to their faces.
We've seen this pattern from vulnerable Republicans across Arizona. They vote with the MAGA agenda, then hide from the consequences. David Schweikert backs out of debates. Eli Crane won’t host town halls. The list goes on…
But here's what we can do about it: organize, support strong Democratic candidates, and flip more seats blue in 2026.
Will you chip in to help the Arizona Democratic Party support candidates who will actually show up for working families? [[link removed]]
