America's pro-democracy movement is preparing for its largest demonstration yet against the increasingly militaristic Trump administration. The administration has already sent armed troops to occupy the nation's capital and is threatening to do the same in major cities.
Popular resistance has been building since a large protest on President's Day in February, followed by mass demonstrations in April, and the first "No Kings" protest on Trump’s birthday in June. That event drew millions to counter the president’s "tin-pot" military parade.
The movement will return to the streets of America for No Kings 2 on October 18. Organizers expect this sequel to be even bigger, fueled by growing public outrage over Trump’s brutal mass deportation campaign led by masked ICE agents and his increasingly lawless rhetoric, including claiming many Americans would "like a dictator."
