John:

Greetings from Capitol Hill.

Today marks the 24th Anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on our country. The World Trade Center Buildings in New York, the Pentagon in Arlington, and a peaceful field in Shanksville, all serve as permanent reminders of the very real and persistent threat of terrorism facing the West. Fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, family members, strangers, and neighbors were murdered out of pure hatred.

In the days, weeks, months, years, after that fateful day, the memory of the pain, response, and rebuilding still remain heavy, but the trust in God, patriotism, sacrifice, and love for fellow citizens, remain the enduring hallmarks of our character.

To our veterans, active duty service members, and first responders, we owe an immense debt of gratitude for your every day of service, selflessness, and sacrifice. Thank you for your service to our nation.

Rest in Peace, Charlie Kirk.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” - Matthew 25:21

In God’s sovereign way, despite our Earthly loss, it is Heaven's gain. Praise God Charlie Kirk knew Jesus, and is resting in the presence of our Creator.

It feels like we all – whether we knew him, met him once, shook his hand at a rally, waved from a distance, or just watched in amazement on TV or X – lost a friend yesterday.

His eloquent, free flowing speech, rooted in core beliefs with an incredible skill for debate and conversation, drew millions in. Vibrant passion, coupled with his intellectual heft and oratory skills made him a formidable conservative warrior. He was a leader of his generation, and he was murdered for it.

A bold Christian, husband to Erika, father of two beautiful children, and a leader of a movement. Beloved by everyone from the President of the United States, to the impressionable teen nervously staring down the first day of high school or college trying to make sense of this world. The hundreds of thousands and likely millions of lives Charlie influenced for the better can never be totaled.

Charlie Kirk and the organizations and movement he built, showed up on college campuses to engage in peaceful debate. He famously would respond when asked “why are you here?” with, “when people stop talking, really bad stuff happens.” When he showed up on college campuses, Charlie would talk about his love for Jesus and would encourage everyone to accept Him as their Lord and Savior. He passionately advocated for our country, and his desire to see it restored.

His assisination and martyrdom is hard to put into words. As William Wolfe posted, which was later echoed by Vice President Vance, “This gets even worse when you consider that Charlie Kirk–more than anyone else in America on the right or left–built his platform making a good faith effort to model civil political discourse and debate in the public square. His entire project was built on reaching across the divide and using speech, not violence, to address and resolve the issues.”

Charlie left a torch burning extraordinarily bright. We should all desire to pick it up and press forward.

FBI Salt Lake City is asking the public’s help identifying this person of interest in the connect with Charlie’s murder.

Sincerely,

Hugh Fike
