Dear Friend,
Like so many across our nation, I am heartbroken by the tragic and senseless loss of Charlie Kirk. He was taken from us in a brutal act of violence that has left a hole in the hearts of his family, his friends, and countless Americans who were inspired by his courage and conviction.
Charlie was more than a public figure—he was a husband, a father, a man of faith, and a tireless advocate for the things he believed in. He dedicated his life to reaching the next generation, reminding young people that truth matters, that faith endures, and that freedom is always worth defending. His words carried weight because they came from a place of conviction, not anger. His passion was rooted in his belief in America and his trust in God.
To Charlie’s family, especially his wife and children, I want you to know that Minnesota grieves alongside you. We wrap you in our prayers, asking for God’s comfort and peace in this time of unimaginable sorrow.
The right to speak freely, to gather peacefully, and to live without fear for one’s beliefs must never be undermined by violence. As a nation, we must stand united in rejecting hate and upholding justice. Those responsible must be held fully accountable.
But justice alone is not enough. We must also look inward and recommit ourselves to building a society where disagreement does not lead to violence, where differences are debated with civility, and where our children grow up in a nation that values life, liberty, and community above all else.
May we come together in prayer, in unity, and in resolve for a better tomorrow.
With a heavy heart,
Brad Finstad
