Hello John,

We are heartbroken at the death of Charlie Kirk, and we extend our deepest condolences and prayers to his wife and children, to the entire Turning Point USA family, and to the many young people who looked to him for courage and clarity.

Charlie devoted his life to galvanizing the next generation of conservatives. We mourn the loss of a great friend and ally.

His example calls us to renew our commitment to ISI’s mission: to educate students in the principles and virtues required for ordered liberty, rooted in American and Western civilization.

ISI is committed to the safety and flourishing of our students, faculty affiliates, supporters, and staff across the country. We will continue to take prudent steps to safeguard our community.

At the same time, we will not be intimidated by violence from the enemies of liberty or by any force that seeks to end free inquiry in the pursuit of wisdom. Inspired by Charlie’s heroic example, we will move forward boldly on college campuses this fall, educating and mentoring the next generation of American leaders who will secure the safety and happiness of the American people.

Even in this time of profound grief, the light of God’s eternal truth steadies us and strengthens our resolve to form leaders who love what is true, good, and beautiful. I invite our students, faculty, and friends to pray for Charlie and his family. Moved by his witness, we rededicate ourselves to building a culture worthy of our inheritance.

Sincerely,

John A. Burtka IV

President and CEO
