Dear community,
When the government interferes with or removes a community's ability to access healthcare, it strikes at the heart of our most basic values of freedom, dignity, and democracy. Right now, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has opened a Request for Information on gender-affirming care for youth, with the express purpose of framing this life-saving care as fraudulent.
We know better: gender-affirming care is settled science, and it saves lives. Together, we must flood the FTC with evidence and testimony that makes this clear.
Here are some guidelines before you submit:
Protect your privacy: Comments are public. Please avoid sharing identifying information.
If you are a provider: Instead of discussing your practice directly, share evidence-based, scientific information about gender-affirming care.
If you are a patient or parent: Speak generally about ages, regions, or environments, without revealing specific identifiers.
This is a critical moment topush back against misinformation and to defend our right to self-determination. Thank you for showing up for trans youth, families, and providers.
