Team, the general election has begun. Kentucky has spoken. It’s up to us to beat Mitch McConnell in November.

And tonight—the most important FEC deadline we’ve faced together—is a moment we must meet together.

I'll be frank—we have some ground to make up if we want to stay on course to beat Mitch. Thanks to his special-interest support, he had a huge cash advantage going into his primary, and with no competitive opponents, he’s been able to stockpile it.

And while we waited on results, he put the pedal to the metal in fundraising—raising over $1 million in just a few days last week.

The other side has a clear head start in the general election, but it’s a head start we can erase—if we each do our part when it matters most.

Let’s make sure our first FEC report after winning the nomination leaves no doubt that we’re ready to defeat Mitch and defend our democracy.
