Friends,

I know it's late and I've been emailing a lot, but I wouldn't be reaching out if it wasn't important. We are so close to hitting our first end-of-quarter goal since my Republican opponent became the GOP Senate nominee.

This is a huge deadline for us, and with all eyes on our campaign, we can't afford to come up short. Please give what you can before our midnight deadline using this secure link >>> >>> [link removed]

Thanks so much,
Mark Warner

Friends,

This is the first time I've written to you directly since my Republican opponent won the GOP nomination. I want to talk to you about what's on my mind at this critical point in the election cycle. I would say the stakes couldn't be higher, but the truth is, with each passing day it seems like we get another reminder of how much worse things could get if we fail to beat Donald Trump and flip the Senate this November.

We are facing an unprecedented pandemic that has already claimed 120,000 of our fellow Americans and a President unable to see this virus through any lens but his own re-election prospects. We see it not only in his erratic leadership, but also in his ongoing efforts to block safe and secure mail-in voting.

The President's failure to contain the virus has led to the worst unemployment crisis since the Great Depression. Like the coronavirus, this economic catastrophe has hit our most vulnerable the hardest. And this will only get worse if the Trump administration is successful in its efforts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act in the courts.

All of this is happening during an overdue moment of reckoning about systemic racism in our policing, in our health care system, and in our economy. Yet instead of a meaningful debate, we have a President tweeting out "white power" videos and leadership in the Senate that would rather score political points than pass meaningful bi-partisan police reform.

Why am I saying all this? Because in Virginia, where we have elections every year, politicians say all the time that "this is the most important election." But this year, it really is true.

I'm running for re-election because we have one chance to turn our country around. That means holding this seat, flipping the United States Senate, and sending Joe Biden to the White House. Now that I've got a pro-Trump Republican opponent, things are about to get even more serious. We know Donald Trump is personally targeting Virginia -- he's said it himself. That means I need your help to continue building a campaign that can compete against the Republicans pouring money into Virginia and weather the challenges of coronavirus and social distancing.

So, I am personally asking you today for your help before tonight's deadline, the first Federal Election Commission (FEC) deadline since my opponent secured the GOP nomination.

I am grateful that you have stood with me in the past, and I'm asking you to make another contribution to help us hit this can't-miss fundraising goal.

Let me level with you: this is not going to be easy. The biggest mistake we can make is to look at the polls and assume everything will be fine. A lot of people made that mistake in 2016, and with my race in 2014 when it came down to one percentage point. I'm not taking anything for granted -- I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and work until the job is done. We are going to run the best grassroots campaign we can and compete for every single vote. That is how we beat Donald Trump, keep Virginia blue, and bring about real change in this country. I need your help to make it happen.

It means so much to me to have your support as we head into this critical election. Together, we can win this November and finally begin to turn our country around.

Sincerely,
Mark Warner
