John, have you heard about Question 1? It's the Republicans' attempt to gut Maine's absentee voting system, used by 40% of voters and 60% of seniors in 2024.
Not only would this voter suppression referendum make it impossible to request ballots over the phone and by family members, but it would also limit the number of drop boxes, reduce the number of days Mainers can return their ballots, and eliminate ongoing absentee voter status.
If you haven't heard of it, you're not alone.
53% of Democrats haven't heard of Question 1, but once they do, 92% are opposed!
That's why it's so critical that we get our message out about the dangers that this referendum poses to our democracy. It's simple math, John, the more people we talk to, the better chance we have at defeating this blatant attack on voting rights.
But the level of outreach we need won't be cheap, so we're reaching out to our top grassroots supporters to ask for their help in mobilizing voters across the state to support voting rights.
We're counting on you to help us defeat voter suppression this November. Will you make a donation of $10 or whatever you can afford now? Any amount helps.
If you've stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation to the Maine Democrats will process immediately. |
Thank you!
