John,
There’s an affordability crisis in America that is impacting all of us, and today I’m asking you to share your story.

Let me explain why.
The affordability crisis is hitting rural communities like ours especially hard. Families in Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula are being squeezed out of the very basics they need to build a life - and our leaders in Washington are more interested in fighting culture wars than fighting for working people.
What do working people want? We want to be able to afford to live a LIFE: Local Housing, Income, Food, and Essential healthcare for all people, and essential care for our veterans.
Because here's what I believe: if we can't afford a place to live, good-paying work, food on the table, and healthcare when we need it, we can't build families. We can't build communities. We can't build the future we deserve.
Why an affordable LIFE Matters
Some might say this acronym is quirky. Maybe it is. But I think it's also honest about what politics should actually be for - giving people the building blocks they need to build a life.
Not the culture war distractions. Not the partisan talking points. The basics: a place to live, work that pays, food on the table, healthcare when you need it.
These aren't Democratic issues or Republican issues. They're human issues. And in the past, we've had leaders from both parties who understood that.
After over twenty years as a military spouse and veteran advocate, I know what it means to serve people, not political parties. This is a fight for the people we love - it’s about giving them a future.
Your Story Matters
Here's the thing about this affordability crisis - it's hitting everyone differently, but it's hitting almost everyone. The teacher who can't afford to live in the district where she works. The senior who drives two hours for specialized care. The young couple putting off having kids because they can't afford a house. The senior choosing between medications and groceries.
There's an affordability crisis in America, and I need your story.
If housing costs have forced impossible choices in your family, I want to hear about it. If you've struggled to find work that pays enough to get ahead, not just get by, tell me. If you've worried about putting food on the table or accessing healthcare, your experience matters.
Because your stories - our stories - are why I'm running. They're proof that we need leaders who will fight for an affordable LIFE, not just talk about it.

Every story helps me understand what's at stake and helps build the case for the changes we need.
We can work together to make these essentials more affordable. But only if we choose leaders who remember that our government should work for the people building a life, not the powerful protecting their profits.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Thank you for caring about our communities. And thank you, in advance, for sharing your story.
Together, we can build a future where every family in Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula has what they need for LIFE.
