Sharing some good news, Friend.
The York City Council, with the support of the CeaseFirePA community, just took a major step to prevent mass carnage by banning Glock switches, bump stocks, and other gun attachments that turn handguns into machine guns .
We're not waiting for Harrisburg to save lives. This is the 7th life-saving policy we've helped pass at the local level in just over a year.
Machine-gun conversion devices are dangerously easy to access in the Commonwealth — you can buy one online for $20 — and they make it possible for someone to fire up to 800 bullets a minute. Legislation is an important tool we have to keep these devices off the streets and give law enforcement a fighting chance when responding to shootings.
"Any legislation that we can do to slow down the hemorrhaging of bloodshed in our community…I'm going to always be for it," said York City Police Commissioner Michael Muldro.
Similar ordinances have also passed in Philadelphia and Delaware County. Now, we need to keep the momentum going statewide.

We know the consequences of these devices being on the streets. A machine-gun conversion device was used in the Memorial Day mass shooting at Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park and in the 2023 attack that killed Brackenridge Police Chief Justin McIntire [[link removed]] . A machine-gun conversion device made it possible for a shooter to kill 60 people in 10 minutes at the Las Vegas Route 91 Harvest Festival in 2017.
At least 23 states, including Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, and Virginia, have passed their own laws banning machine-gun conversion devices. It’s time for Pennsylvania to catch up.
