Friend –
I'm sure you saw the news: after a historic turnout on Primary Day and a valiant get out the vote effort, Kentucky State Representative Charles Booker wasn't able to secure the votes to win the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate.
Even though he wasn't victorious, Charles' revolutionary, forward-thinking campaign is something worth celebrating. He proved what's possible when we speak truth to power, engage Black voters, and get our communities to the polls. But that's only part of the equation.
Running a campaign takes resources, and Charles' campaign was significantly outspent. Despite this, Charles persisted and remained neck-and-neck with his competitor until the very end. So imagine what's possible when we aggressively support and donate to Black candidates starting on day one!
Friend, there are still hundreds of Black candidates like Charles who are on the long road to Election Day and need our support. If you're with us, chip in today to help us build Black political power and elect leaders like Charles:
