Tomorrow marks the beginning of the general election here in Colorado, and while we may not know all of our candidates at the moment, we do know a lot about what is in store from now until November. We need to turn the corner on the hateful division and a corrupt
administration who weakened and ruined America’s credibility around the world. Inviting foreign interference? Ignoring bounties on American troops? Kids in cages? Hostility to facts? Encouraging MORE fossil fuels?
We know that our majorities in the State House and State Senate are up for grabs, and we will defend all 41 of our seats in the House while continuing to flip seats that seemed impossible to flip even 10 years ago. Equally important—we must maintain our crucial majority in the Senate and keep Leroy Garcia as Senate President. Those majorities meant that while Trump was embracing, sharing and promoting white supremacists, Colorado was passing first in the nation police reforms after the murder of George Floyd.
We know that tomorrow we will have a candidate for US Senate, but also candidates for all seven of our Congressional races. Time is up for Cory Gardner, Ken Buck, Scott Tipton and Doug Lamborn and they must answer why their loyalty is to Donald Trump and not Colorado.
We know that we are playing both offense and defense in Crucial CU Regents races. Some of our favorites like Congressman Joe Neguse started off as CU Regents.
We know that we will compete with all imaginable energy up and down the ballot and that Democrats will continue to test our values against Republican values any day of the week.
We know that Colorado Republicans and their friends in Washington want to turn back the clock and “Make Colorado Red again” and they will spend every dollar and cent to make that happen—we cannot let them get away with it.
At the CDP, we’re ready to sprint—ready to run it through the tape in November and if you want to help us, consider chipping in to hand Republicans another smashing defeat.
