Tammy Duckworth here. I wanted to make sure you’ve seen this:

Let's make it clear: The President of the United States essentially just declared war on a major city in his own nation.

This is not normal. This is not acceptable behavior.

But I’m not surprised by the awful tactics of a draft dodger.

Last week, I went to Naval Station Great Lakes to get answers for Illinoisans on how Trump is letting DHS use the site as they prepare to invade Chicago.

Trump’s DHS refused to meet with me, locked the doors and fled. That’s not how you act when you’re doing something legal, or something that you’re proud of.

But the American people cannot be fooled. We cannot allow Trump to distract us from what is really happening:

That he has driven our economy to a point where there are more unemployed people than there are jobs, that we’re not selling American products overseas and our adversaries are aligning against us.

I won’t sugarcoat it. Stopping Donald Trump from making Chicago his war zone will not be easy.

I am laser-focused on protecting Illinoisans and defending our freedoms from the Trump Administration, but this is not something I can do alone. No one can.

So I’m asking for your support today. If you can afford it, please chip in $20 or whatever you can, so I can continue my work holding the Trump Administration accountable. Every dollar shows Trump that Chicago will not back down.
