<[link removed]>Hi Friend,
Voting is now open for local council elections.
Ballot papers are hitting mailboxes up and down the country in what will be the most important local elections in years.
That’s why we’ve launched the 2025 Ratepayer Voting Guide. Click here to see which candidates in your area have signed the Ratepayer Protection Pledge – and which candidates haven't bothered to. <[link removed]>
The Pledge seeks candidates’ commitment to:
- Oppose any measures that will see the total burden of rates, levies, and additional council charges exceed the level of inflation and population growth.
- Support initiatives that will improve transparency of council expenditure, including the public disclosure of all expenditure items.
- Oppose unelected appointments onto council committees with spending and regulatory powers.
Friend, this is your chance to cut through the spin and see exactly which candidates wear their policies on their sleeves, and which candidates will sit on the fence.

Local elections are often decided by just a handful of votes. If more people know which candidates are backing ratepayers, meaningful change is possible.
Thank you for standing with us,
