SB 79 is closer than ever to passage: YIMBYs just crafted a new deal with labor unions that will yield more homes, better jobs, and quicker timelines.

We’re still working hard to get SB 79 to pass the Assembly floor, and the agreement with these unions is a big boost. But because the bill was amended in the Assembly, it will have to go right back to the State Senate for a concurrence vote – and it has to pass by Friday night.

NIMBYs are already flooding State Senate offices with emails against SB 79, even though the bill is still pending in the Assembly. We cannot wait for the Assembly to act – we need your help right now to show Senators that their constituents want them to vote YES on SB 79.

Everything is on the line. SB 79 is just a couple of votes away from heading to the Governor's desk, and NIMBYs and MAGA influencers have turned up the pressure on Senators to push them to vote no. The amount of right-wing misinformation about SB 79 that's flooding into legislators' offices is truly shocking.

SB 79 will increase the supply of homes near major transit stations, while also bolstering transit use – and the funding stability of our public transportation systems.

SB 79 will make it easier for all Californians to afford to live near transit. SB 79 will reduce climate pollution.

We know it's a little unusual to ask you to send an email to your Senator when the bill is still pending in the Assembly. We're still pushing hard in the Assembly and taking nothing for granted there.

But we would be making a strategic mistake to ignore what is happening over in the State Senate. We cannot let NIMBYs be the only people Senators hear from right now. If SB 79 passes the Assembly, the Senate could take it up immediately – leaving us with no time to mobilize. That's why we’re asking you to act now.

The other reason: SB 79 passed the Senate by a single vote earlier this year. We expect the next Senate vote to be close too. Your email can make a big difference.
