While Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans are scrambling to figure out how to fund the government before the end of the month — with no real plan — they did manage to agree on one thing: going to bat for the fossil fuel industry.

Last week, House Republicans narrowly passed a spending bill focused on energy programs by just one vote. Their so-called “energy dominance” plan would:

  • Cut clean energy funding by 46% at the Department of Energy
  • Shut down the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations, which supports projects in rural and remote communities
  • Put Big Oil profits ahead of working families
