They’re putting Big Oil ahead of working families.
John,
While Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans are scrambling to figure out how to fund the government before the end of the month — with no real plan — they did manage to agree on one thing: going to bat for the fossil fuel industry.
Last week, House Republicans narrowly passed a spending bill focused on energy programs by just one vote. Their so-called “energy dominance” plan would:
Cut clean energy funding by 46% at the Department of Energy
Shut down the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations, which supports projects in rural and remote communities
As SEEC Member Rep. Marcy Kaptur (OH) said, “This bill fails to address the reality of the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.”
While families are struggling with rising electricity costs, Trump Republicans can’t help themselves — they’d rather gut clean energy and protect fossil fuel interests than work on a real plan to help working families reduce costs and fund the government.
Thanks to your help in 2024, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 119th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future.
