Dear John,

Today, The New Global Possible: Rebuilding Optimism in the Age of Climate Crisis ( [link removed] ) is officially out in the world. Writing this book has been a journey and I believe its message of action is exactly what we need right now.

This is a difficult moment. There are many challenges to building a better future for people, nature and climate. In the ten years after Paris, we are not where we want to be.

But we have real evidence for hope.

In this book, I talked to over a hundred experts, leaders and changemakers who showed me how we’ve gotten big things done. We have dozens of stories of progress in multilateralism and business to justice and cities; we are not starting from scratch. A global economic transition is already underway, and now we just have to figure out how to make it happen faster. This means, rather than selling people an abstract future, we must ensure climate action makes people’s lives better now ( [link removed] ).

I’m thrilled to see The New Global Possible ( [link removed] ) resonates with many leaders I admire—including Dr. Jane Goodall, John Kerry, CEO of Ingka Group (IKEA) Jesper Brodin, award-winning environmental organizer Gloria Walton, and many more who have endorsed the book.

I hope you read the book, learn something new, and join WRI in working toward a better future. Proceeds from book sales directly benefit WRI’s mission.

*A Big Thanks*

This book wouldn’t have been possible without the help of many, many people who shared their time and expertise.

The biggest lesson in the book that continues to resonate with me is the radical collaboration needed to transform our economy. At the end of the day, it is people who are ready to come together and help one another that give me the most hope.
Thanks for your continued optimism—and for being a part of this movement.

Best,
Ani
