TELL THE U.S. HOUSE:
Speaker Johnson claimed that Trump was an FBI informant charged with taking down Jeffrey Epstein — Johnson’s latest desperate attempt to protect Trump from the release of the Epstein files. Reps. Khanna and Massie are pushing a bipartisan measure to force a vote, release the files, and stop letting Trump hide from the truth.
Sign the petition: End the cover-up — force a vote on releasing the Epstein files!
Speaker Johnson has for months tried to save Trump from release of the Epstein files — where Trump’s name is redacted multiple times.1 Johnson even claimed that Trump worked with the FBI to take down Epstein as an informant. The Speaker backtracked on those ridiculous comments just a few days later.2 Then, yesterday, House Democrats released the apparent birthday letter and drawing that Trump sent to Epstein — and that Trump denied existed.3 Johnson and the Trump admin have tried to distract us from the Epstein Files with phony DOJ document dumps, the abrupt closing of the U.S. House for recess, bogus legislative maneuvers, and, now, absurd claims about Trump and the FBI.4 The bipartisan discharge petition led by Reps. Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie would force a vote on releasing the Epstein files if a majority in the U.S. House signs on — and it's gaining momentum. We need more lawmakers to sign on immediately in support of survivors, justice, and accountability. Sign the petition: Don’t let Trump hide. Force a House vote to release the Epstein files! What is Trump trying to hide? Survivors spoke out last week about their abuse at the hands of Epstein and Maxwell, their trauma and pain, and their demands for justice. One survivor spoke directly to the intense harm that Trump is causing by calling their campaign for truth a “hoax.”5 One survivor said it’s time to “lift the curtain on these files.” After decades, survivors and the public have a right to a full record of Epstein’s crimes and all of the powerful abusers involved in his sexual abuse ring. They all called for a full release of what the government knows about Epstein’s crimes, in order to hold their abusers accountable. If enough lawmakers sign on to the bipartisan Khanna-Massie discharge petition, the measure must be brought to a full floor vote. We must flood U.S. House offices with messages urging them to sign on and force the vote. Sign the petition: Urge your U.S. Representative to sign the discharge petition and support the release of the Epstein files! Thanks for taking action, Joey and the Demand Progress team P.S.
