Team: Let’s talk.

I’ve been in back-to-back meetings with the teams talking strategy and polling, and here’s where that took us:
 

We MUST recruit strong Democrats to run EVERYWHERE. All 150 seats in the Texas House of Representatives are up for election every two years, and we can't make our case if we don't run candidates. There won't be a seat left unchallenged if I have anything to say about it. We can't wait to ramp up campaign operations throughout the state. We need to be opening field offices, hiring local organizers, printing tons of literature, and investing in Democrats up and down the ballot ASAP.

 

Even if we win a record number of seats but lose 10 incumbents, we're no closer to flipping the House. WE MUST PROTECT OUR INCUMBENTS TOO.

So here’s what we’re going to do: we’re going to walk and chew gum at the same time.

Our operations team has crunched the numbers, and if just 300 folks contribute $12 for the next 2 months, we can send extra support to 7 vulnerable TX House incumbents AND still make our recruiting goals for the next campaign cycle.

Yes, Flipping the House means we have to recruit and train new candidates, but it starts with protecting our hardworking and vulnerable incumbents. We reached out to you last week to highlight some of these amazing House Dems. Folks like Eddie Morales, Mihaela Plesa, and Robert Guerra — they need your continued support. Trust me when I say it’s gonna be a dogfight, everywhere.

But we can keep these Democrats (and more!) in these seats to safeguard our wins by sustaining grassroots investments and getting resources in the door right away.
