Every day, Americans get a new reminder of the importance of our elected leaders, from the president, to members of Congress, to mayors of big cities and small towns.

This election is the most consequential of our lifetimes, and I don't want to wake up on November 4 wishing I'd done more -- and I imagine you don't, either.

Tonight's deadline is the biggest test our campaign has ever faced, so I have to ask one last time.

This month has shown us that the entrenched Republican interests won't go down without a fight. Here's a quick look back at the last few weeks:

• On June 5, my overwhelmingly bipartisan legislation to help small businesses through the pandemic was signed into law.


• That same day, House leadership endorsed my opponent for Congress.


• Last week, an out-of-state group invested more than $2.6 million in political ads to run in the Twin Cities to try to flip House seats and turn Minnesota red.

This district is fiercely independent, which means we can't take a single vote for granted. I'll continue to make my case directly to voters this summer and fall so that they aren't swayed by the onslaught of negative ads that we know will arrive in Minnesota any day.
