Hi everyone,
Across our nation, school districts are debating whether to ban student cell phones on campus.
Supporters of these bans argue that they help students concentrate in class without potential distractions. But we can’t help but be concerned about the potential safety risks.
In an emergency, whether it’s an act of violence, a natural disaster, or some other crisis, a cell phone can be a child’s lifeline. It’s how they call 911 for help, reach their parents, and share critical information with first responders. There are even critical school safety applications, like CERA or SaferWatch, that use cell phones to alert students and teachers to safety or security events on campus.
We believe every parent deserves a say on this issue. That’s why we’re asking: Will you take our 30-second poll and share your thoughts on banning phones in schools? [[link removed]]
