Hi John,
Welcome to the relaunch of The New American Leader! This is your inside look at how New American Leaders is rewriting the story of who leads in our democracy.
We’re excited to have you with us, because this movement isn’t possible without you. Together, we’re proving that leadership in America can reflect the voices, experiences, and vision of all our communities.

Meet Olivia Mugenga, a Ready to Win® alumna, and a human rights lawyer in Atlanta. And yes… she’s royalty in Marvel’s Black Panther movies. 🖤✊🏾
Olivia’s story is bigger than the big screen. A survivor and fighter, she has transformed hardship into a mission to protect vulnerable communities through her work in law and advocacy.
She is proof that New Americans are not side characters in democracy, but are instead the heroes moving their communities forward.

** Milestone: 2,000+ Leaders Trained!
------------------------------------------------------------
This year, we crossed a powerful milestone: more than 2,000 leaders trained since our founding in 2010. As anti-immigrant rhetoric grows louder, so does the urgency of our work. Communities are calling for leaders who reflect their values and experiences, and NALpistas are stepping forward to answer that call. We’re proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with them in the fight for an inclusive democracy.
And in 2025 alone, here’s who makes up our newest changemakers:
* 218 leaders trained across 22 states + D.C. 📍
* 52% born outside the U.S. 🌎
* 67% women + non-binary 👩🏽
* 24% LGBTQIA+ 🏳️🌈
These numbers, and the people behind them, are proof that a new generation of leaders is rising.
