Friend — The Supreme Court just ruled to uphold the Trump administration’s cruel and racist ICE raids in Los Angeles. The Supreme Court’s decision overturns the Temporary Restraining Order that blocked federal agents from racially profiling and discriminating against Angelenos because of the color of their skin, their accent, speaking Spanish, and their place of work. This isn’t just an attack on the people of Los Angeles. This is an attack on every person in every city in this country. The White House has been waging an all-out war on our city and on Angelenos. This summer, federal ICE agents flooded our streets. These roving patrols randomly snatched people from our city’s sidewalks and chased workers through parking lots, car washes, and fruit stands. It’s plain wrong, and Los Angeles will not stand for it. No one deserves to live in fear in their own community. The last few months have been a nightmare for too many families in Los Angeles, and I promise to never stop fighting to protect all Angelenos.
