Champions of Palestinian rights look to hold Israel accountable

Dear Supporter,

Israel’s threat of massive land theft through annexation is imminent, and AMP members across the country have been doing everything possible to expose and oppose it. Our message has been loud and clear: Our tax dollars should not be used to subsidize Israel’s war crimes.

Here are two things you can do today:

Contact your Member of Congress: We’ve been working with our partners and the office of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on a strong letter to the US Department of State that condemns Israel’s annexation, naming it as the pathway to formalized apartheid. It promises to condition US funding to "ensure that U.S. taxpayers are not supporting annexation in any way.”

This historic letter was signed by 13 members of Congress, and we are proud to be listed as a supporting organization in the official press release. It’s already making waves in the media, and it’s agitating AIPAC so much they tweeted about it before it was even public (prompting several more members of Congress to add their names!).

This important step in the right direction wouldn’t have been possible without years of progressive political power-building by activists like you. But we can’t stop here. We need grassroots political power to keep driving the pushback against Israel’s illegal annexation plans.

Take a minute and send a message to your member of Congress. If they signed the AOC letter, thank them! If they did not, express your disappointment. They need to hear from you! It’s important for elected officials to know that we have their backs after they take a bold stance for Palestinian rights. Time is of the essence - please act now!

Join a protest in your city: If you live around DC, please join us this Friday to protest outside the Israeli embassy. If you’re in LA, you can join this protest tomorrow, and if you are in the Chicagoland area you join this event tomorrow. AMP-NJ will also hold a rally this Friday. Seattle’s End the Deadly Exchange is holding a protest tomorrow. You can look up other protests around the US here.
