John,
Piping plovers and our coastal communities are facing rising seas and destructive flooding. But protecting and restoring naturally occurring landscapes, like coastal dunes, can provide habitat for this vulnerable species, while buffering communities from storm surge and sea level rise.
Cherished wildlife need our leaders to invest in the natural and built infrastructure to protect our coasts, floodplains, and drinking water, plus other forms of zero-pollution infrastructure that combat climate change and make our nation and wildlife more resilient to climate-fueled disasters.
Tell your House representative to vote YES on the Moving Forward Act, which will invest in restoration of our wild places and climate solutions for all.
Congress is finally acting to fix our broken national infrastructure. And with your help, John, we can make sure this investment protects wildlife and vulnerable communities. Destructive natural disasters—like wildfires and algal blooms—have become more intense and more frequent; aging water infrastructure is ill-equipped to handle severe storms; energy and transportation are too reliant on carbon-intensive fuel sources. These issues require urgent action if we want to protect the lands, air, and water all wildlife and humans depend on. The time for climate-smart investments is now.
In addition to supporting natural infrastructure that improves climate resilience, the Moving Forward Act also takes bold action to reduce climate-disrupting carbon emissions. By passing the bill, Congress can put people back to work through programs that improve our built and natural infrastructure while also reducing climate pollution from cars and trucks; restoring carbon-absorbing wetlands; investing in electric vehicle charging stations; expanding investments in low-carbon energy and carbon capture; and building safe crossings for when wildlife have to move across highways.
Ask Congress to protect wildlife, act on climate, enhance habitat and natural areas, and invest in clean technology and natural infrastructure to put people back to work today.
