Following the horrifying mass school shooting at a Minneapolis Catholic school that stole the lives of two innocent young children and wounded 21 other innocents – Gov. Tim Walz is speaking out AGAIN:


Tim Walz: "The thing that makes America unique... is we just have more guns and the wrong types of guns that are on the streets."


But Tim isn’t stopping there – he just declared that he will call a special session to address gun control and introduce a BAN on assault weapons like the one used in Minneapolis.


This is EXACTLY the kind of bold, decisive action we need to see from our lawmakers following these heinous tragedies. But for far too long, Trump and his gun-lobby-backed cronies in Congress have refused to act to keep our communities safe from mass shootings. They’ve even unleashed more deadly weapons like the one the shooter used to slaughter two children and injure countless more while they prayed at Mass onto our streets and torn down red-flag laws that could have prevented this tragedy. But this week marks the anniversary of the first and ONLY federal Assault Weapons Ban – so we’re setting a goal to raise $7,500 before Saturday to show that Democrats across the country support banning assault weapons once more and to ensure we have the funds to defeat spineless gun-lobby-backed Republicans who refuse to keep our communities safe. → It’s been OVER 25 YEARS since President Clinton signed the federal Assault Weapons Ban into law.


→ But Congress let the ban LAPSE after only 10 years – despite mass shootings falling drastically.


→ A federal assault weapons ban is the ONLY way to ensure tragedies like what happened in Minneapolis – and so many other cities – never happen again.


So we mean it when we say that gun safety Democrats from coast to coast need to rise in support of Gov. Tim Walz and DEMAND another ban on assault weapons immediately.
