Friend—I just wanted to make sure you saw Sara’s note from yesterday about the midnight FEC deadline.
When the realities of the pandemic became clear, Sara paused campaign activities, including fundraising, and instead mobilized Team SJ to help our communities. It’s not every day that you see a politician who truly believes in putting people over politics, profit, and ego. That’s why I’m so proud to be on Sara’s team, and I hope you are too.
Now, let’s stand up for Sara like she stands up for us. If you have the capacity to give, please pitch in before the FEC deadline.

Subject: Why I'm asking
|
Friend,
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit San Diego, just a couple weeks after winning the March 3rd primary, my team and I quickly halted all campaigning and fundraising to focus on what we could do to help. We gave blood, delivered meals to frontline workers, packed meals for food banks, checked on our neighbors, helped connect people with resources, and more.
I’m so proud of everything Team SJ was able to do and will continue to do for our community.
As we help San Diegans get through the pandemic and the recession that has followed, I believe it is more important than ever to have representatives who understand the federal government and have experience working on federal policy. We need someone in Congress who can hit the ground running on Day One to ensure San Diegans get the support they need to recover from these public health and economic crises. And we need a new generation of leaders who can make sure that we don’t only rebuild, we reimagine.
That’s why I’m running for Congress and why I’m more motivated than ever to win this race. San Diego has given me so much, and I will never stop fighting for all kids and all families to have the opportunities I did.
Tomorrow, we are up against an important campaign deadline, where we have to report our fundraising numbers to the FEC. These numbers will go public and it’s crucial that we show strong support to help us win in November.
That’s why today I’m personally asking if you can contribute to our campaign if you are in a position to do so. By giving $1, $5, or more, you are showing that we have a movement that’s ready to bring change to our community.
Thank you for your support,
Sara
