Montana just wasn't a competitive race -- until it was.

When Montana Governor Steve Bullock jumped in the race to flip this Senate seat, all bets were off. Now, it looks like a race that started as a safe GOP seat is officially a toss-up. That's thanks in huge part to Steve's steady leadership in Montana during the COVID-19 outbreak.

He's been guided by science, not politics, during this crisis -- and that's saving lives. That's the kind of leadership Montanans need in the Senate.

Steve Bullock has proven time and time again to be a strong, steady leader when his state needs it most -- and we need to keep him advocating for Montana in the Senate, too. Montanans are independent thinkers. It's why they split their tickets on a regular basis.

So you can't follow presidential polling numbers in Montana to know how they'll vote for their senators. Back in 2012, Jon Tester won his reelection by 4 point while Obama lost Montana by 14. And in 2016, Steve won his reelection as governor by 4 points when Trump won the state by 20.

You just never really know, and that's why we need to support Steve Bullock right now. It's a long road to November, and who knows what will happen next -- we just have to be prepared.
