Headline: Remembering My Intern Eric Tarpinian-Jachym

.On Friday, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro announced that two arrests were made for the individuals who shot and killed my intern, Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, on June 30, 2025. Although nothing can reverse this horrific act of violence that took the life of a kind and bright young man, my hope is that U.S. Attorney Pirro’s announcement will bring peace and closure to the family and friends of Eric, and all who knew and loved him. I’m grateful to U.S. Attorney Pirro, the detectives at the Metropolitan Police Department, and all who worked to make the arrests for this violent crime.

.Our nation’s capital should be safe for all the Americans who live, visit and work there. On Sept. 2, I joined my colleagues in the Republican Study Committee to share our appreciation for President Trump’s actions to address crime in Washington.

.Recently I made visits throughout the 4th District to meet with local businesses, tour manufacturing facilities, and talk with constituents. I shared information about the Working Families Tax Cut and its pro-family, pro-worker provisions that will benefit Kansans.

.The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was passed by Congress and signed into law by the president on July 4, 2025, is a tax cut for working families in Kansas and the rest of the country.

The Working Families Tax Cut extended the Trump Tax Cuts from the successful 2017 Tax Cuts & Jobs Act, delivering tax relief to hardworking families around the United States. Within the Working Families Tax Cut, Republicans delivered on many campaign promises from the 2024 election, including no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on car loan interest for new cars, and tax relief for seniors.

Also included in the law is nearly $150 billion in funding for border security and the border wall.

Republicans’ historic legislation is pro-family, pro-growth, and pro-business, and the American people will benefit from the tax relief within the law.
