Hey, I wanted to give y’all an update on our fundraising progress as we get closer to our FEC deadline at midnight.

We set an ambitious goal of raising $200,000 before the quarter ends, and we’re still a little ways away from reaching that. But when we were just short of our deadlines in months and quarters past, this team has always come through to make up the difference. I know we can do it again.

I must say, I’m more energized than ever before, folks. The past few days have proven just how much Mississippi is changing, and how Cindy Hyde-Smith simply can’t – or won’t – progress with it.

The removal of the confederate battle emblem from our state flag is a massive step forward. Like many of you, I honestly wasn’t sure I’d see it in my lifetime. As I stood in the state capitol with clergy and community leaders two nights ago, as the flag was pulled down at the Mississippi State Capitol, I was reminded of what’s at stake in this race.

Mississippi has a choice in November: To stay in the past under Hyde-Smith, or move forward to a brighter, better future for all of us.

I know that if we rise to the occasion, we can defeat the odds and win this thing come Election Day. And it starts with reaching our goal today. Will you pitch in $10 for the first time to help?
