Friend, I want to be straight with you: August is notoriously a very slow fundraising month -- and, honestly, now is not the time to fall behind our goals.

Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren have already raised tens of millions of dollars this year. And now, Tom Steyer is in the race and self-funding his campaign with his massive personal fortune.

But for a campaign like ours, we rely on grassroots donors who contribute $5, $10, or whatever they can to help us stay competitive. Can you rush in a donation today? [link removed]

Some of our opponents have stockpiled enough money to withstand a few slow weeks of fundraising. But team, we aren't in the same boat. We can't afford to fall behind on our fundraising goals if we want to run a competitive campaign.

Last week, we missed an important deadline. When that happened, this community immediately stepped up and as a result, we surpassed our mid-month goal. Now, we've set another goal of raising $450,000 by the end of the month.

This may be a slow time of year for fundraising -- but that doesn't mean we can't defy the odds. Can you chip in right now to make sure we don't fall behind on our $450,000 end-of-month goal? [link removed]

Thank you,
Cory
