Originally published by Eunice Alpasan via WBEZ News | September 2, 2025 A grand opening celebration was held Tuesday for a new 211 hotline call center in Grand Crossing on Chicago’s South Side aimed at helping Cook County residents navigate health and social service resources. The 211 call center will be home to more than 50 full-time staff connecting residents to resources such as housing, food and utility assistance. The center, 7247 S. South Chicago Ave., is located at the tech workforce hub Xchange Chicago. “By opening this new call center in Xchange Chicago, 211 is strengthening its presence in Grand Crossing and contributing to neighborhood vibrancy and economic revitalization,” Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle said during a ribbon-cutting ceremony event. |
