Cholesterol Awareness PSA Wins Telly Award WomenHeart’s Cholesterol and Heart Health PSA was named a Silver winner at the 41st Annual Telly Awards this year. The PSA, produced with the support of Amgen, raises awareness of the prevalence of high cholesterol in women and urges women to “pay attention now” to their numbers. Advancing Access to Vaccines As we wait for a vaccine for COVID-19, we have an opportunity to ensure that our policies and systems eliminate any existing structural barriers to vaccine access. WomenHeart is working to increase education and awareness about vaccines for women with heart disease and legislation intended to improve vaccination rates. Read the blog here. |
WomenHeart Launches Sustainers Circle Giving Program This month, WomenHeart launched a Sustainers Circle giving program of monthly donors committed to the organization’s mission. By giving on a recurring basis, these donors allow WomenHeart to spend less time fundraising and more time expanding the foundation of our work and exploring new ways of reaching underserved communities impacted by heart disease. Statement on Racism and the Loss of Black Lives Earlier this month, WomenHeart CEO Celina Gorre and the Board of Directors issued a statement on the devasting impact of racism and structural inequalities in the United States. The message recommits WomenHeart to ongoing efforts to raise awareness of health disparities, particularly for women of color, and pledges to implement policies and practices that promote equity and are responsive to the needs of diverse communities.
